Pastor Moser at Home with Jesus

Posted by on Sunday, February 9, 2014,

My mother, Pastor Moser, is the founder of this website.  She passed away suddenly in October 2013, just days short of her 69th birthday.  She felt a heavy burden to write, what she called her "articles", monthly and have them posted right away.  During the latter part of last year, she felt tired frequently (due to her unknown health condition at that time) and would sometimes have to combine months for one article as her monthly deadline would pass.  She felt awful having to combine two mon...

Forgiveness

Last month's article was on family feuds, so it only seemed fitting that this month we should discuss forgiveness. It seems that being human, we all have issues of the heart of one kind or another, and forgiveness plays a large part in the human condition! Offenses come in almost any relationship. The closer the relationship, the deeper the hurt. The Bible in many places, encourages us to...

Family Feuds

Posted by on Saturday, June 29, 2013, In : 2013.07 "Family Feud'

(Photo compliments of: www.ictstexas.com)

I once heard a minister say, “With a family like mine, I don't need enemies”! Of course, it was the punch line to a very funny story. However, sadly enough, this can be the truth, even in “Christian” families!

As a minister, (as well as a senior citizen) at this point in life, I thought I had heard it all, when it came to family problems. Not so! Recently, I was talking to a woman, in her 60's, who was telling me about an out of state visit fro...

Our Father

This month we celebrated Father's Day! I thank God for the wonderful fathers that so many of us have had. For those who didn’t have a father at home or one, perhaps, that were not a very good father, we have a Holy Father to whom we can relate, through His Word. The Bible tells us what kind of a person a father should be, in that God is the example of the perfect father. He sent Jesus to this earth in the form of a man, i.e. He was God with skin on!...

The Amazing Palm Tree

Posted by on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, In : 2013.04 "The Amazing Palm Tree"

It has been said that righteousness is like a Palm tree (Psalms 92:12). One reason is that a Palm tree is not easily uprooted. I once read that Florida hurricanes, with their 140 mph winds, blew down pine trees, but never hurt Palm trees. They are not easily uprooted because their root system can go as deep as 2 or 3 miles into the ground. Jesus is the vine (tree) we are the branches, (John 15:5).  Selah (pause and think of that)!

The TV news showed pin...

A New Beginning- Genesis1:1-2

Posted by on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, In : 2013.03 "A New Beginning- Genesis1:1-2"

We are still in the early months of this year, 2013. The worst of the winter has passed, and Spring is on the horizon, which is another new beginning. I've chosen the above scripture because I feel it was the first new beginning in the Bible. Many Bible scholars feel a judgment had taken place between verses 1 and 2. First, there was the heaven and the earth, and then there wasn't. That is another lesson, but there are scriptures to indicate a catastrophe had taken place, between verses 1...

A Panoramic View of the Bible

The Bible, which is the most widely known of books, encourages and baffles study at the same time. Even a non-believer, rightly feels that it isn't wise to be totally ignorant of the most famous and ancient of  books. And yet even the most sincere of  believers soon gives up any serious effort to master the content of the sacred writings. The reason is not hard to see. It is because no particular portion of Scripture can be understood out of  ...

Once again, it is that time of year. The gifts were purchased or made, and given, and it is almost time to take down the decorations. Parties have been attended, travel plans may have been on the agenda, and the baking is finished. Shopping, cleaning, visiting, church activities, and all the endless activities of the Christmas season are over. It is usually a busy as well as a happy time of year for most of us. In one week alone, I had made 2 frui...

What's Next?

Every so often I try to write on the next event we can expect on the Biblical Calendar, which is.... the Pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church. The closer we get, the more confusion and rejection of it we see. The Rapture is being denied and ridiculed more and more, not only by church goers, but even by some ministers, in that very few of them even preach about it anymore! The main reason for this is that Satan doesn't want the world or the C...

We have heard the dire predictions of men about global warming and various other calamities coming upon this earth, and many people are concerned about the future how strange that we just came through the effects of Hurricane Sandy (called the "Hurricane on Steroids") as I was beginning this article!  I am buried under snow, and my daughter who lives only 20 miles away, only had light rain!  However, it is more important to see what God says about the ...

Every once in awhile, I like to just teach a Bible information message rather than teach life lessons, via testimonies. Some of this may seem dry by comparison, but we need to know the Word. I usually like to get beneath the layers of facts and get at the heart of a message. For me it is not enough to KNOW something, I want also to glean the meaning, and the “why”, if possible, behin...

Faith 101

One thing I really like about God...He isn't boring! When you sign on with HIM, you are in for an adventure! I once heard a TV preacher say, “We need to ask ourselves if we are a fainter or a fighter, a weakling or a warrior, a victim or a victor”. That is certainly a Selah (pause and think on that) question! We are faced with these situations at one time or another in life, even if not on a daily basis.

Unlike the TV comedian who us...

Sister Kathy

Due to the loss of  my elder brother, “Lou” in his first trimester of life, I became the first born of 5 children. My sister Kathy was the middle child. If there is anything significant to the “birth order” theory, then she is the typical middle kid. Somehow there was always a hub-bub of activity wherever she went. Tomorrow is her 62nd birthday, and nothing much has changed. She is still the little whirl-wind! In fact, I ...

In the 1970's, my young daughter and I began life on our own in a new location not far from home. We had been through quite a rough patch as the country folk call it, and needed to make a new start. After finding a cozy little house in a safe neighborhood, the next thing we needed to do was find a church. As it “so happened” a new church was being built and scheduled to open soon close by and it seemed they were having a time of it, too. First, a f...

[Those of you who have read my articles the past twelve years know that I write my own commentaries. Anytime I borrow from another writer, I always give the credit to the originator. A few years ago I ran across a few paperbacks and bought them to aid me in my own studies. It is a series written by Girard and Richards entitled The Smart Guide to the Bible series. I liked the studies as they share a lot of details that we don't ord...

Then Shall The End Come, Matthew 24:14

As we continue last month's teaching, we glance briefly at the nations under the human government of four world empires, and we see strange figures for facts. The Prophet Daniel saw the beginning when he was a captive taken by King Nebuchadnezzar at the fall of the holy Temple in Jerusalem. In Daniel 1:8, he purposed in his heart he would not be defiled w...

Every so often, some unknown “wanna be” sticks his head up and announces some wild prediction to the masses, of doom, gloom, and the destruction of the world. When the date comes and goes without incident, as in the most recent case, then the “see-er” recalculates his dates and comes up with another one, as also in the most recent case. After so many tries, people tend to lose faith in the boy who cri...

Saints on Assignment

Here we are once again, at the close of another year. It is so hard to believe that 2011 is winding down, and yet it will be the New Year before we know it! Maybe it is just me, but the older I get the faster life goes! However, the one thing that keeps me mentally staying on course is I feel I still have things to do.
Regardless of age or condition, we are required to “finish our course and keep the faith for there is a Crown laid up for u...

The Church: Boot Camp, Social Club, or Nursing Home?

For the past three years, I have been watching our church scene here in America, more so than usual. It may have to do with my personal unrest in my own small town, but it seems to me that the Church seems on the decline in most places. With the return of our Lord Jesus feeling so close, I find this alarming, to say the least! It feels like so many churches have lost their vision, and even our political scene s...

Yesterday was my birthday, and I awoke this morning thinking that I haven't even started on October's article yet! I thought, “Well, this is a great way to start this next year of my life!” I dragged out of bed, and began the morning routine. (It is amazing how that takes a bit longer these days)! I was reading an online intro to a book, and the author said that “the most valuable thing that we all possess is time. In our busy lives, it is so hard to carve out even a few minutes for introspection, reflection, or even meaningful thought. But if we don't have hours at our disposal, we do have a moment here, a moment there”. I need to buy Rabbi Twerski's book (Seize the Moments) to ga...

Crowns

I recently was browsing through an old hymn book, when I saw a song entitled,
“Will There Be Any Stars?”. Sure enough, it was one I remembered singing in the old country church when I was a teenager. The chorus continued, “Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown....”?
I had just been talking to my friend, Judy, about that very subject (crowns), that the Bible said would be given to God's people in Heaven. I had mentioned that I had not read an...

A Word of Knowledge: (One of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit)

I don't know how anyone else's summer has been going, but mine has been a bit more hectic than usual. One of the most frustrating things, has been my ineptitude getting used to this new computer. It is a little more difficult adapting to the unfamiliar as we get older, especially when other situations in life are unsettling as well. Besides having technical difficulties, I could not get the May's article to come together and posted on time, which of c...

A Word of Wisdom

As you regular readers know, at the end of each article I usually post a W.O.W. which is kind of like a “sermon in a sentence” sort of thing. I don't know about anyone else, but this summer has really started off with a bang at my house. A lot of changes, health issues, family moves, home improvements, etc. and I find that it is June already and I haven't finished May's article yet...it is like the old Dutch saying...“the...

We are now entering into the time of the 'Glory of His Word' Theocracy during the Age of the Law. As already noted, these Dispensational Truths give the pre-eminence or supremacy of God's Will.
Rev. C. I. Scofield, D.D. gave each Covenant or dispensation a name in order to clarify each segment of  Biblical History, which are listed as follows:

(1) Innocence (Gen. I:28).
(2) Conscience (Gen. ...

Three months after Israel had gone forth from Egypt, they came into the wilderness of Sinai, pitched their tents and camped before the mount. Moses went up before God, and was instructed as to what to tell the people. God told him to tell the people... “You have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles wings, and brought you unto myself. Now if you will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure u...

Last month, we ended the Third Dispensation under the Noahic Covenant. Through the seven sons of Japheth, (son of Noah), came the goyim, or the Gentile nations, translated “heathen”. The name does not imply religion, but simply means non-Israelite or “foreigner”. Genesis 11 and 12 mark an important turning point in the Divine dealing. Up to now, the history has been of the whole Adamic race. There has been neither Jew nor Gentile; al...

“In like a lion, out like a lamb” usually refers to the month of March, but 2011 has had a jump start on that old American adage. With below freezing temperatures and several inches of snow across most of our country, it looks like January not only came in, and is now roaring through February like a lion as well! Hopefully, March will do the lamb thing! So much for the theory of “Global Warming” which the more elite scientists have debunked by...

In March of 1966, I took my 7 month old baby girl, boarded a plane (for the first time in my life), kissed my husband goodbye, and flew 1,200 miles south to visit my in-laws. “Me-me and Pampa” were happy to see me and their latest grandchild, but I had an additional reason to go. I was interested in checking out the Church/School my in-laws were attending, that had so radically changed their lives. They were Christians, and “Pamps” had e...
