I once heard a minister say, “With a family like mine, I don't need enemies”! Of course, it was the punch line to a very funny story. However, sadly enough, this can be the truth, even in “Christian” families!

As a minister, (as well as a senior citizen) at this point in life, I thought I had heard it all, when it came to family problems. Not so! Recently, I was talking to a woman, in her 60's, who was telling me about an out of state visit from her brother, who is in his 70's. He is still a huge, and strong man. It seems in some families, this sibling rivalry never stops! This younger sister still “pushes his buttons”, and before he left her home, he knocked her down! These “kids” are still fighting, even in their old age! Of course, she was stunned, and when she finally picked herself up off the floor, he pretended it was an accident!

When it involves sisters, there is usually no physical violence manifested. Women are mostly verbal and that hurts just as badly, at times, as it is a blow to the heart. And I have noticed, according to some, sisters tend to “rewrite history”. We never seem to remember certain incidents the same way!

The Bible tells us in Psalms 34:14 “Depart from evil and do good...seek peace and pursue it”. It only takes one to SEEK peace...but to have peace BETWEEN people, there must be an agreement. Interestingly, the verse before (vs.13) reads; “Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile”...which tends to cause division in the first place...duh! Regardless as to WHO started the mess, the Word says in Matt. 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers; for THEY shall be called the children of God”! Therefore, it really behooves us all who may have a division with someone in the Lord, to do our best to settle it, which means to PRAY for God's timing and direction. If the other person doesn't want to reconcile or at least make peace with you, then go your way and pray for them as often as they come to mind, and give them to GOD! He knows them better than you do and HE will deal with them. Sometimes we just have to LET GO AND LET GOD...! At least you have done YOUR part, before man and God!

May God Bless you All,

“When someone hurts you, don't: nurse it, curse it, or rehearse it!
Instead, let God disperse it and reverse it”!

P.S. Some may have noticed that there wasn't an article posted for May, 2013. I took a vacation for the Mother's Day Holiday, and celebrated with my daughter and grandson...PTL!!!!
