This is the time of year Christians set aside to honor the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The world waited a long time for His appearing. He is a true gift to all of mankind who was, is, and is to come, forever. This precious Gift was wrapped up inside the body of a young Jewish girl, named Mary.

From the beginning, when the very first sin was committed, the Savior was promised.

The Lord God said after the fall in the Garden that the Redeemer would be born through the woman’s seed (Gen. 3:15). Since it was to be a virgin birth, no seed of man was involved. Nowhere else in the Bible have I found the linage of a woman, other than the Virgin Mary. If you compare Mary’s line with Joseph’s, the supposed father of Jesus, you will see they both are of David’s family, but Mary is through David’s son Nathan (Luke 3:31), whereas Joseph’s line is through David’s son Solomon. An interesting point is that when Joseph is mentioned, it is specifically noted that he was “the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ”, (Matthew 1:6).

In the first chapter of Luke, God sends the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee, to tell Mary that she shall bring forth a son, and tells her of the plans God has for Him. She is confused because she is a virgin and it is impossible that she is with child. The angel answers her by saying “The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the child shall be the Son of God”.

Here is the fulfillment of the Word that Gabriel spoke to Mary. “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” John 1:14. The Word through Gabriel acted as Holy sperm and created life within the body of a virgin girl…much like in the beginning when God the Son spoke and the worlds were formed, and all that were around and within them. Selah!

Since it was David’s line that was to be taxed, of course Mary and Joseph had to make that trip to Bethlehem to pay their taxes, which brought about the birth of the baby Jesus and fulfilled the prophecy of Micah 5:2, in Matt. 2:1-6 where it says the Messiah shall be born in Bethlehem.

Luke 2:8-16 gives us the next account. “And there were in the same country, shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph and the babe lying in a manger".

May the message of the Christmas season warm your hearts, may Jesus become YOUR Living Word, and may you all have a blessed New Year!

God Bless You All,
